Adam turned 1 two weeks ago. Just like Blake’s 1st birthday, it was a last minute thing. I didn’t want to do anything at first but changed my mind anyway. So it was just a couple of friends and family. No biggie.
Theme
I decided on Disney Cars Theme because Blake named this baby boy “race car” while he was still in the womb. Also, it’s cute. Right? As always, it was DIY’d (thank you Pinterest!!). I got some napkins, paper plates, and some decors from Daiso.
I downloaded a printable food label and added fun, quirky food names (again, thanks to
For the cake, I used a foolproof recipe from my friend Abi (www.cuddlesandcrumbs.com). I was supposed to make it fancy with fondant and everything then I remembered how hard it was! So I settled for a semi-naked cake with buttercream.
I couldn’t find a proper Lightning Mcqueen topper so this mama improvised. LOL! I got a small red car from the toy shop then ordered the topper from Spotty Dog Crafts on Instagram. So thankful that she accommodated us even if it was last minute (and she has a flight the next day!!) so check her out coz, highly recommended. A+ customer service. 🙂
Thankful
We are ever so thankful for everyone who has been a part of this wonderful ride. My brother who took care of us while we were in the Philippines. Cousins who helped and made sure we get the blood Adam needed when he was in NICU. Friends and family who prayed with and for us.
My heart is full.
Happy first, Adam love. You make our family complete.
Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
