AHLAM
Ahlam is a the girl in this story. Her sleep ran away and she couldn’t sleep anymore. So what do you do when you can’t find your sleep? Ahlam asked her friends and family for advice. Ahlam got different answers from different people. What does white coffee, honey and a grotto have to do with sleep?
This interactive book takes your child into the world of Ahlam. Each page has different elements to explore and colorful graphics that would keep your child entertained.
VERDICT
Although we’re not Arabic speaking, B loves the book / app. At her age, she is drawn to the elements of the book rather than the story. Each page of the book has different items that makes a sound when touched. And the most fun part is finding the cute little mouse in every page! This book encourages the use of Arabic language in children. I really think that this is a smart way of learning the language especially now that our kids are more techie.
The book is authored by Mona Merhej Moussa, a German/Lebanese psychologist and an expat mom with two girls. With the struggles of incorporating Arabic in everyday life, she founded Kankana to encourage Arabic speaking. You can find more information on their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter or you can contact them by email.
