I’m sneaking a quick blog post before Princess B wakes up. She’s taking a nap right now and it’s the only time I have. I should be napping as well because I have to keep up when she’s fully charged!
Remember I said I’m so stressed? Well, I’m going to tell you now. Our nanny had to leave (temporarily, I hope!!) due to family emergency. I don’t want to be the “boss” who wouldn’t let the “help” go home even if it’s a life and death situation! Of course we had to let her go, for all of our conscience sake!
The problem now, who’s going to take care of B?? We just had our vacation this February and it’s holiday season (meaning most bosses are out of the country now!), I can’t file for leave. Plus, I have other plans. A, however, has plans already. Good thing his schedule is a bit flexible so he can stay at home for a few days after Eid break.
The only solution I could think of is to bring B to office, which I did yesterday. Thank heavens she did not make a (lot of) fuss at the back seat. She HATES the car seat. Anyway, we arrived at the office and I let her do whatever she wants. Good thing is that my colleague is out of the office too so we had the room to ourselves. I gave her pens, colored papers, tape, glue … anything that could keep her preoccupied.
She was a star! Everywhere we go, people would give her chocolates. Probably a little too much coz she was still hyper till late last night! Good thing it’s not a busy time in the office. I asked my boss if I could bring her to the workplace for a couple of days more because we don’t have a replacement while the nanny is gone. He agreed, so that’s sorted out.
The only worry now is how I can keep up with her. I am literally a working/stay at home mom. I have to go to work and do chores at home AND take care of a toddler. I’m sure there are moms out there who are doing this already, but this is new territory for me. I feel I have a lot on my hands and I’m afraid that I might drop the ball.
It’s just two more days. Hopefully all goes well! I asked her if she wants to go back to mommy’s office, she replied:
I love Mommy’s office!! 😀
Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
