I was lucky enough to be invited in the launch of the newest coffee shop in town. Icons Coffee Couture is the world’s first “No Sugar Added” lifestyle coffee chain. It opened its doors on 30th October 2013 in Souk Al Bahar – Dubai, UAE.
“We are so glad to finally present our unique concept of luxurious, fashionable and guilt-free coffee chain with its first outlet in UAE to the world. With the launch of Icons, we have achieved a great milestone of launching World’s first ever coffee shop with Stevia-only menu. Stevia is touted as the sweetener of choice for diabetics, and a suitable alternative to sugar for those looking to engage in a healthier lifestyle. With high prevalence of obesity and diabetes in UAE and the region plus with more people dying of heart and lifestyle diseases than because of hunger, it felt only appropriate to look for an option which can provide the same great taste for our sweet and coffee cravings yet can be low on calories providing essential health benefits. It’s been my dream to create something meaningful for the society, and we wish to bring a healthy change more so a health movement with our exclusive concept. After all, who does not want toe enjoy something sweet without feeling guilty afterwards.” – Elena Weber at the launch of Icons Coffee Couture, Souk Al Bahar
Look at those healthy options… salads, sandwiches … cakes. Yes cakes can be healthy if natural sweeteners are used, right?

By 9:30 pm, we moved to Kanpai for the after party.

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.

Hi Kero! Yeah, the jarcake is really something. It wasn’t at all “sweet”… just right. And the banana “taste” is just right. Not overpowering. Also, I was excited for the mason jar. HAHA!!
Thank you for the great company that night. Enjoyed it immensely.

I love the ICONS jar cake concept! I’ve been seeing it around Pinterest and what a novelty. It makes for a fun holiday season giveaway. So happy they are readily available. I’ve been meanign to try and bake but I can’t find the right size mason jars.
Glad you enjoyed the opening event!
