I thought I’d make my own version of YDKJ – Suede. I mean how hard could that be?
- Make YDKJ your base, 2 or 3 coats.
- Add a layer of shimmer polish.
- Then finish with matte top coat.
Perfect!
That’s what I thought. In a perfect world, that would have been exactly like the suede version. But I’m not in a perfect world. So…let the pictures show you what I ended up with.
I layered YDKJ with OPI Happy Anniversary. Then with China Glaze Matte Magic Top Coat.
I just think I put too much of Happy Anniversary. Or maybe its not the right kind of shimmer.
With flash. Still no love.
Well, at least I tried. 😀
Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.

Thanks for the comment Ria!
I really have no idea what to call this color. Doesn’t look like YDKJ anymore. Doesn’t even look like taupe. 😀
