Exploring Al Seef Dubai
Museum of Illusions
It was a very laid back Christmas this year. Unlike last year where we spent the holidays in our home in the Philippines. Christmas is a big deal back home. We do the works! Trees are usually up by September. Yep! That’s how hardcore we are.
This year, I decided to lay low. I chucked in some veggies and chicken in the crockpot then left it for about 8 hours so we got home to a warm Chicken Pot Pie. That’s it! No big meal preps.
Al Seef Dubai
We decided to stroll around Al Seef while waiting for our dinner. This is not our first time at Al Seef. In fact, we’ve been going here even before it was redeveloped. I must say, I like it more now. Al Seef is a long waterfront promenade divided into two, heritage and contemporary areas. It is very “Dubai” – a mix of the old and the new.
Since we’re all used to seeing the modern version of Dubai, we explored the other side — Heritage area. Blake did not like it at all. She says it’s “old”. Hopefully I could convince her that “old” does not mean its unpretty. There’s a lot to learn from here.
Museum of Illusions
Another reason for us going back here is to see Museum of Illusions. I’ve been wanting to get in there since I heard about it a couple of months back. It is definitely one of those must visit places. We all enjoyed exploring!
Here’s a tip for you: Make sure you talk to the attendants and ask for help! They will gladly assist and take the very best photos for you. It made our visit doubly fun! (make sure to leave them a tip before you leave — a special thanks for their efforts)
We wouldn’t have known how to pose and what to do if not for that nice lady who helped us. She convinced us to redo shots and she insisted on taking our photos. Good thing we let her coz the pictures were amazing!
Museum of Illusions is open from Sunday to Wednesday – 10 am to 10 pm and Thursday to Saturday – 10 am to 12 mn. Ticket price is at AED 80 for adults and AED 60 for children from 5 to 15 yo. Free entry for kids below 5.

All in all, it was a fun day. When we got home, our chicken pot pie was ready. We had early dinner and opened our gifts. And that’s how we spent our Christmas Eve!
How about you?

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
