Many Filipinos are unaware that they can now pay travel tax online . For Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) this do not apply. OFW’s are exempted from paying travel tax provided we have a valid Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). However, we do get visitors from time to time and any amount of time saved by eliminating unnecessary trips to the Department of Tourism or waiting in line at the airport is time that we can spend better on other things.
Online Travel Tax
Here are the steps on how to get your Travel Tax online:
Registration
- Go to TIEZA Online Travel Tax Payment System (OTTPS) website. It’s a good practice to go the TIEZA home page first to see if there are any important announcements.
- If you are an existing user, (No point in reading this at all), Login with your email address and your password.
- If you are a first time user, click on “Create your account” to register for an account. To complete the registration, you would need a valid email address and passport details.
- After registration, confirm your registration by clicking on a the confirmation link sent by email to the address that was provided in the registration. You have the option to do this at a later stage.
- Prepare all your documents, clear scanned copy and should be in JPG format. Scan your passport details page, ticket, and other supporting documents. Online payment for reduced rate is currently not available. Please proceed to any TIEZA office to submit documents and pay the reduced rate.
Application
- Pay Travel Tax for a new Trip, click PROCEED button under PAY FULL TRAVEL TAX
- Fill-up the required details
- The total amount to be paid will appear on the box on the right side of the screen webpage.
- Click the PAY NOW button to proceed to the payment screen.
- Fill-up the required information to proceed with the payment.
- Print the invoice in landscape orientation. The invoice can be printed anytime however, it will be more convenient to have it saved on your local computer.
- INSTRUCTIONS:
Please print two (2) copies of the Acknowledgment Receipt (AR) confirming “Successful Payment Transaction.” Ensure that both the Requestor Name and Ticket/Confirmation Number on the AR matches the information on your passport and ticket.
Please bring BOTH copies on your scheduled date of travel. They shall be collected at the check-in counter at the airport or port of exit.

The Next Step
Well, the next step is on the day of your trip. You can just to go the check-in counter, present the printed invoice along with your travel documents as you check-in.

I did mention in the comment that online payment is currently suspended due to a system upgrade. Check with your airline as they have a facility for your to pay at the time of ticket purchase.
