Ramadan Kareem!
[Tweet “Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a “month of blessing” marked by prayer, fasting, and charity.”]
During this time, most offices have reduced working hours which is a big YES! for me. This means I can go home and spend some time with B (or blog, just like what I’m doing now!)
In 2010 B.B. (Before Blake), I used the extra hours jogging around the small track near our place. But since it’s already summer in Dubai, I can’t see myself doing rounds in this heat. Especially if I can’t hydrate (eating and drinking is not allowed outside as respect to those who are fasting).
So this year, I decided I’m going to take swimming sessions in the morning before going to work. I’ll be starting on Thursday. Wish me luck! I really need to take control now and lose a couple (a lot, actually) of pounds. I’ve grown double my size when I first came to Dubai a long time ago. Blame it on my metabolism slowing down or just the fact that I no longer have the self-control. How can I resist good food!?
In fact, just before Ramadan, I got invites to sample Iftar offerings to various hotels and restaurants! These are good food, I tell ya!
*I’ll add more to this list if ever I decide to go to more Iftars*
DUSIT THANI DUBAI
We were late to the Pre-Iftar event so we didn’t have time to take photos but you can see a full review from www.arencejean.com. As usual, the food is amazing. The spread is from Dusit Thani Dubai‘s 3 main restaurants: Benjarong, Pax Ristorante and The Californian. Iftar is priced at AED 149 per person and is located at the 24th floor. For big groups/corporate Iftar, they have special rates for 50 pax and above (AED 110/person). You can call 04 3174515 or email dine.dtdu@dusit.com for reservations.

RIXOS THE PALM
We were invited to dine at A La Turca – Turkish Restaurant in Rixos The Palm. It was a bit far for me but I knew it’s going to be worth it. Aside from spending time with friends, I enjoyed the food selection presented to us. Full details can be found at DocGelo.com.
Iftar is priced at AED 185 per head. You may call 04 4575454 or email dine.dubai@rixos.com for reservations.

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
