I was invited to join a blogger’s breakfast last Friday to mark the opening of The Farmer’s Market on The Terrace (TFMOTT). To be honest, I did not know what it was. I did not even know there’s such a thing. Yes, I live under a rock.
TFMOTT is a nonprofit, community-based initiative organized by Baker and Spice (in association with Emirates Towers Management). They provide a venue for local farmers to showcase their homegrown and organic, seasonal produce.
Wait, ORGANIC? Isn’t that expensive?? Yep, I hear organic and my pocket automatically closes. I have this notion that everything and anything organic will derail my budget. Boy, was I wrong! The veggies are fresh and cheap. Imagine a bundle of kale for 3 AED. I bought kale from the supermarket and it was around 20 AED.
There’s no middle man in this setup. You buy from the farmers directly. You get to talk to them about their produce. (and if they like you, they give you extra!)
The event itself was fun. I got to meet other bloggers. Totally in fan girl mode that morning.
Food was prepared and served by Baker and Spice. It’s a shame I wasn’t able to concentrate on the food as the little one was being clingy.
Definitely planning to go back this Friday, really early so I can get my hands on eggs and fresh veggies! Bringing A along so he can watch B while I check out other stalls. You should visit, it’s free admission and plenty of parking available!
Hope to see you there. In the meantime, I need to go enjoy the rest of the day with the little one. 🙂

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
