The Strength Project
During Ramadan (when working hours were shortened!) I decided to make use of my extra time by doing some laps at the pool in Al Nasr Sports Club. We swim 3 times a week. Swimming is my “sport“. (I use the term “sport” very lightly because I’m not a professional … I just love to swim!)
Inside the pool building, you’ll find The Strength Project. They just reopened early this year under new management. Since I know one of the owners, I was invited to check out their facilities. I wasn’t disappointed!
The Strength Project offers functional training, cross fit and mixed martial arts sessions with the guidance of qualified trainers.
This is coach Isaiah.
He is a fitness coach and a pro-MMA fighter with expertise in weight loss, post-pregnancy workout, pro cycling group class instructor, circuit training, strength and conditioning. He is a lightweight Muay Thai Champion, former number 1 contender at Pacific Extreme Championship, current number 1 contender and ranking for lightweight division in URCC, and 7 times gold medalist in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Coach Isaiah was our coach for the day. (scared!!)
First, he took us around the gym, explained the functions of each room. Then we started with the functional training.
We did cycling, rowing, squats, and other stuff that I can’t even remember. Obviously, I am so not fit for this. Then we moved on to the MMA area. Now this, this is something I like doing.
I love to punch and kick. I have so much angst that I can say I punch hard for a big girl. 😛
I kept going at it until I became light-headed. Ha Ha!
Other facilities include, sauna and steam bath, shower and changing areas, and use of the swimming pool at a discounted rate.
What I like about The Strength Project:
They offer comparatively cheaper membership rates than other gyms.
- They have clean facilities (doesn’t smell like sweat and steel!)
- The staff are very friendly and accommodating. (This is a big plus for me because I get intimidated in gyms)
For more information about The Strength Project, you may follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

I was invited to try the facilities however opinions are my own. This is not a sponsored post. 🙂

Hey there! I’m a mom of two who loves to crochet. Balancing work and motherhood is crazy, but I handle it with love and humor. With my eldest entering her tween years, the chaos just got a whole lot more interesting!
I’m fueled by coffee and dream of working from home. When I need to chill, I turn to my trusty essential oils. They’re my secret weapon for staying sane in the madness.
Join me for mom life, crochet, and my journey to work from home and retire before life passes me by.
We would love to hear what you think! Leave us a message:
