Tried & Tested: Getlaundry.ae

 Annndddd we’re back!! The last two days was spent at home, trying to adjust our body clocks (read: sleeping!). It’s the start of the work week for me so I’ll probably be swamped with paper works at the office for a few days. I’ll be posting about our recent travel in between. 

Meanwhile, I want to share with you my review on an app. A week before we left, I was able to try out the GetLaundry.ae app. 

It’s a platform that coordinates with different laundry providers in the UAE in order for users to request laundry pickup and delivery. The app lets you choose items, calculates your fees, lets you enter your preferred collection and delivery time.

The items are divided into categories and priced accordingly.

I used the app to have some of our bedding done. After I completed the request, I received a call from Getlaundry.ae to confirm the dates. The items were picked up according to my request. They also called me to inform me that one of my bed sheets was torn and that their service provider refuses to accept as it might get more damaged. (I deliberately did this to check how they will handle such incidents). I told them that it is an old bed sheet and that they should proceed, which they did.

However, just to check their efficiency, I called them on the day of the delivery to reschedule. They accommodated my request but the delivery was late for a day because the provider got confused of the schedule. I received a call from them apologising for the mistake and that they are on the way to make the delivery.

   
Once the delivery has been made, the status on the app itself will be updated and your request will be closed. 
What I liked about the app and service:

1. They call you to confirm collection and delivery. 
2. They inform you of any damage and will not proceed unless you give your blessing. 
3. The app updates you of the status of your request. 

I am happy with the service and the app itself. The only thing is that the pricing is definitely a big leap from what we get from our neighborhood laundry service. I guess this is the price you pay for good, professional service, yes?
