“Serene minimalistic ambiance, intoxicating aromas and genuinely caring therapists…”
After a very filling Friday Brunch at the 24th floor of Dusit Thani Dubai, we went back to our room to relax for a while. Mr. A and little B did not waste another minute, they went back up to the pool deck to swim while I patiently waited for my spa appointment.
Namm Spa
Pronounced as “narm” (meaning “water” in Thai) is the most important element in life that nourishes our body inside and out.
“Our mission at Namm Spa is to relax, revitalize and enhance your wellbeing. Each specialised treatment is designed to pamper your senses and redefine your inner balance and outer beauty.”
I arrived at the spa a few minutes before my appointment. I was greeted by very nice receptionists who gave me forms to fill and offered something to drink. When I was done with all the formalities, I was ushered to my room :
The room is cozy and dimly lit (I had to request my therapist – Jenny – to brighten the lights so I can take photos). I was greeted with a relaxing scent that immediately put me to relax mode.
Each room is equipped with wardrobes, a massage bed (of course), a wash basin … basically everything needed for a full spa session.
They also have private changing and shower rooms. Namm Spa gives 15 minutes for changing and showering on top of your treatment time. However, extra time is charged so if you want to linger, you have to inform the receptionist and make a reservation.
I was given a Lemongrass Salt Scrub for 30 minutes which gave me that super clean feel. Also, my skin felt so soft and supple after the treatment. I chose lemongrass scrub to get that authentic Thai feel to the treatment (LOL).
I always ask for Swedish whenever I go for a massage so that was a given. The massage lasted for 90 minutes but as always, it felt so quick. The pressure was just right that it made me zone out for a couple of minutes.
My legs are very sensitive that every time I get a massage, no matter how “light” the pressure is, I always wince in pain. This time, it was pure bliss. I felt a little sad when Jenny whispered, “madam, your massage is finished“. LOL
Namm Spa has a wide array of treatments suited for everyone. For more information, you may contact them at 04 3174458. You may also follow them on Facebook, and Twitter.
